Hello, friend today we are going to discuss animation. what is animation, What Types of animation are in the details, we regularly see it in games, movies, etc?

What is animation?

"Animate" means- to give life to animation

Animations are created from a sequence of still images. Its image is slightly changed from the previous one. So, animation is the process of designing, drawing,maicing layout, and preparation of photographic sequences which are unified in the process of multimedia and gaming products. The first animated film is produced by j.stuart blackton. The name of the film was humorous phases of funny faces in America and he used stop motion techniques. This film was launched in 1906. Its frame rate is 24framerate per second. The snow white and seven dwarfs were made by Walt Disney using hand-drawn techniques in 1937.


Types of animation

There are five types of animations

  • Traditional animation

  • 2D animation

  • 3D animation

  • Motion graphics animation

  • Stop motion animation



Traditional animation 

Is also known as cel animation because its objects are drawn on celluloid form or transparent paper sheet. It got its name from the celluloid name itself. It was one of the oldest forms of animation. The Lion King is an example of traditional animation.

             



Advantages

  • Simple to implement, use, and animation

  • It is less costly than 2D or 3D


Disadvantages

  • It takes more time to animate the videos.


2D Animation

2D is the animation that is used to create drawings, movies, cartoons, advertisements, video games and so more. 2D animation is less costly than 3D animation.

      

            


What do 2D animators do?

  1. Tractor design and execution

  2. Implementation of digital animation and video

  3. Creation of stop motion and web animation

  4. A variety of designs with the use of red drawing techniques.


Advantages of 2D animation

  • Lower product cost

  • Quick and save time

  • Simple and less complex

  • Basic controls-it is easy to handle within any tutorial

  • More focus on gameplay


Disadvantages of 2D animation

  • It can be boring

  • Less demand in market 2D

  • Economic reasons

  • Time is money


3D animation

  1. 3D animation is completely in the computer.

  2. 3D animation is different in that it can only be done only with the use of a computer.

  3. 3D computer graphics use a three-dimensional representation of geometric data that is stored in the computer for the purpose of performance calculation and design of the images.

  4. Life is high.

  5. 3D allows you to do things that simply are not possible in animation.


Advantages of 3D animation

  • Motion communications

  • Visual appeal

  • Time is money

  • Good quality

  • Demand in market


Disadvantages of 3D animation

  • Limited imagination

  • Lack of simplicity

  • Profit and loss


Difference between 2D and 3D animation


2D animation comprises characters or objects only in height and weight.

3D animation comprises objects in height and depth.

Today animation objects are created by the traditional drawing method

In 3D animation, everything is run to be done in available computer software.

Today animation is less expensive compared to 3D animation.

It is much more expensive than 2D animation.

Today animation is all about frames

3D animation is all about movements.

It is widely used in advertisements, films, and cartoons.

It is widely used in gaming, movies and medical

2D animation works with onion scaling toolkits.

3D animation is work on modeling and rendering.

Example: the Jungle Book Simpsons snow white.

Example: Toy story transformer games.



Motion graphics

 It refers mainly to putting graphic design or images in motion. It allows you can easily create video content in multiple languages or you can change text and voice recording.

  • Elegant style


Disadvantages of motion graphics

  • Difficult for animators to add new content

  • Show the high impact on your message

Stop motion

Sometimes it is cold stope frames because it is an animation technique that is existed for over 100 years filmmaker realized early on that they could create an amazing illusion by stopping and starting their cameras objects. Clay puppets and even people can be animated the principles are always the same place something in front of a camera and take a picture. Move It slightly and take another picture do this a bunch more times .when you start these images together the object appears to move typically 12 frames create one second stop motion animation by wearing the amount you change the objects between frames. Stop motion animation like most things these days there is an app for that vine for example has become a popular tool and distribution platform for stop motion. Stop motion animation is like a traditional animation because it also has frame by frame process.

      


Advantages of stop motion animation

  • Simple and primitive techniques. 

  • Inexpensive Execution

  • Beyond Claymation

  • Physically real props

  • The manual effort


Disadvantages of stop motion animation 

  • Pictures are run 24frame rate per second.

  • Pictures move slowly when stop motion is time-consuming.

  • It is not the proper style of animation

Animation plays an important role in digital creation such as gaming, movies, cartoons, serials, etc.
