Who is Narendra Modi?

Born in a poor family in Gujarat and rose from an ordinary person to the top post of the country, Narendra Modi is known as Vikas Purush. He is currently one of the most popular leaders in the country. He is also the most followed Indian leader on Twitter. He is also known by the name 'Namo'. Time magazine has included Modi in the list of 42 candidates for Person of the Year 2013.

 

Apart from politics, Narendra Modi is also fond of writing. He has written many books, including poems. He starts his day with yoga. Yoga establishes harmony between their body and mind and infuses peace in them in a very hectic routine.

Narendra Modi Birth and Family


Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat. Narendra Modi is the third son of his parents. Narendra Modi's father's name was Damodar Das Modi and mother's name was Hiraben Modi. Modi has 3 brothers. Sombhai Modi, Prahlad Modi and Pankaj Modi. Modi ji also has a sister, his sister's name is Vasanti Ben Modi.

Narendra Modi Education

Narendra Modi's early education took place in Vadnagar. According to Modi ji's teachers, Modi ji was an ordinary student. But he was more interested in debate. He was the finest orator of his style. Modi completed his school education in 1967. Modi ji started selling tea along with his elder brother Sombhai Modi during the same time. After some time Modi ji left the house. After leaving home, Modi ji went to many states of North India to visit and get to know Hindu culture. After touring the north-eastern states of India for 4 years, Modi returned to Gujarat in 1971. After coming to Gujarat, Modi ji also became a campaigner of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Ahmedabad. In 1978, Modi did his graduation in Political Science from Delhi University. In 1983, Modi also obtained a master's degree in Political Science from Gujarat University.

Narendra Modi Intial Political Career

Narendra Modi was very interested in debate from the time of school. He did not want to go into politics since childhood. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh when he was 13-14 years old. During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1964, he was the only one who stopped at the railway station to deliver food for the army personnel.


In his youth, Narendra Modi joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. By staying there, Modi ji served the country at the student level for many years. After this Modi ji joined BJP under the leadership of Atal Bihari Bajpayee. Narendra Modi along with Shankar Lal Vaghela took the party to a higher level in Gujarat.In the 90s, Atal ji was proving to be a rising opposition leader for the BJP. The BJP was getting recognition at the national level. BJP came to power in Gujarat in 1995. After coming to power, Narendra Modi was given the responsibility of the Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya. The journey was a smooth success. Shortly after this journey, the journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir was also taken out. Narendra Modi played an important role in both these yatras. Earlier, Modi ji had the biggest hand in preparing the strategy for the 1995 Gujarat elections. As soon as the BJP won the 1995 Gujarat elections, Narendra Modi was made the General Secretary of the party. From here the journey of Modi ji to Delhi started. As soon as he went to Delhi, Modi ji got the charge of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh while being in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Here Modi ji campaigned for BJP.

Narendra Modi as Chief Minister of Gujarat

In 2001, Keshubhai Patel was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from the BJP. Under his leadership, the BJP lost the Gandhinagar by-election. LK Advani was in Gandhi Nagar seat. After losing the election, LK Advani removed the then Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel from the post of Chief Minister and made Narendra Modi the Chief Minister. After becoming the Chief Minister, till 2002, he worked only to strengthen small government institutions. The burden of the 2002 elections was also on his head. Before becoming the Chief Minister, Modi did not have any kind of administrative experience. That is why the party initially wanted to make him Deputy Chief Minister. But Modi ji had refused for this, he had told Atal ji and LK Advani that either you give me full responsibility of Gujarat or vote nothing.


In his second term, Modi ji paid more attention to the economic development of Gujarat. Due to this Gujarat had become the largest industrial area of ​​India. Modi ji established many technical and financial schemes in Gujarat. In the Vibrant Gujarat Summit held in Gujarat in 2007, Modi ji made an investment of 6 lakh crores. In 2007, Modi ji completed 2063 days as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and Modi ji also recorded the record for the longest time in the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat.

In 2007, the people of Gujarat elected Modi as the Chief Minister for the third time in a row. After this victory, Modi ji made more development in the field of agriculture during his tenure. This was possible only due to the supply of water in Kutch, Saurashtra and North Gujarat. Along with all these projects, Modi ji also provided farms to the farmers. In 2008, the Modi government did successful work on more than 5,000,00 projects in the field of infrastructure. Of these, 1,13,738 were dams. In 2010, water was supplied to 60 out of 112 tehsils. This happened for the first time in the history of Gujarat. Modi ji, being the Chief Minister of Gujarat, brought electricity to rural areas, which helped farmers in agriculture. In the beginning of 2012, Modi ji started the Sadbhavna Mission. This scheme made a good impression on the Muslims of the state. Modi ji also paid attention to the activities of the Center at that time. And also used to give his opinion for the betterment of the country. But his attention was not diverted from the development of Gujarat. When the 26/11 terrorist attacks took place in Bombay, Modi ji also doubled the security of the Gujarat coast.


Modi ji also won the election from his constituency Maninagar for the fourth consecutive time with a very big margin and also won the election of Chief Minister of Gujarat. But his tenure was only for 2 years (2012-2014). In this short tenure, Modi ji took many important decisions for the bright future of Gujarat and laid the foundation for the prosperous future of Gujarat.

Gujarat Riots


In February 2002, communal violence broke out in Gujarat. The pilgrims going by train near Godhra were burnt to death by some Muslims along with the train. This incident is known as Godhra Kand. After the Godhra incident, anti-Muslim violence started all over Gujarat. Due to these riots, more than 2000 people had lost their lives all over Gujarat. To control the rioters, the government had imposed curfew in many cities.


In these riots, the media and the opposition started accusing the Modi government. After many years, in 2009, the Supreme Court constituted a special investigation team. That investigation team submitted a report in 2010 in which no evidence was found against Modi ji and his government. But in 2013, the opposition accused that investigation team that they had hidden or destroyed evidence against Modi ji. After this incident, the media put pressure on the BJP to remove Modi ji. But BJP did not remove Modi ji and in the next election, BJP won 127 seats out of 182. With this victory, Modi ji silenced all his critics.

PM Narendra Modi Election Campaign

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi held more than 430 rallies across the country. These rallies were organized in twenty five states of the country. Modi was the prime ministerial candidate in the 2014 elections. The victory of BJP was completely dependent on Narendra Modi. Because in that election, Modi ji also got votes from the area from where BJP did not expect MPs to come. The Gujarat model prepared by Modi ji in front of the whole country. Seeing him, everyone wanted that Modi ji should become the Prime Minister of the country. During the preparation of elections, he listened to the problems of the common people through a program Chai Pe Charcha and also answered their questions. Modi ji did only 8 or 10 rallies in many states but in these states also BJP got many MPs and BJP registered a historic victory in the 2014 elections.

Period as a Prime Minister of Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India on 26 May 2014. While taking oath, Modi ji had made many big promises, in these promises to reduce the rate of inflation, GDP. Renovation and bringing black money from abroad were the main ones. As soon as he completed 100 days of Modi ji's tenure, he spoke to the people and told them the achievements of the country. And told about the upcoming schemes for the public. After those 100 days, many works of Modi ji were not appreciated because the face of the country is not changed in 100 days. Modi ji was the target of the opposition at that time. As the tenure of Modi ji was increasing, in the same way the critics of Narendra Modi ji were also increasing. But many of the schemes run by Modi ji were liked by the leaders of the opposition, many big opposition leaders have also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The most successful of these schemes was the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. After running the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the level of cleanliness in the country has gone from floor to floor. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has improved the image of India across the world.

Prime Minister again for the second time

Modi ji once again won the Lok Sabha elections 2019 with a majority with his greatness, honesty and became the Prime Minister of the country for the second time. He has inspired all of us by laying down his life in the service of the country. His excellence is an example for the whole of India.
