BSNL revives 1.64 lakh crore pakage

BSNL has announced Rs 1,64,000-crore revival plan after getting approval for its merger with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BBNL).  The telecom department gave its nod for the proposed merger on May 29 last year. A day later, the Cabinet approved the proposal to merge BSNL with its subsidiary and transfer the management control to the government.  The merged entity would have an equity capital of Rs 64,000 crore.  It's going to take time for the merged company to start operations. According to the company, the merger would happen once the government sets the date for the auction of the spectrum of BSNL.  According to BSNL’s statement, the merged entity will get fresh spectrum in addition to the existing spectrum.  BSNL chairman and managing director Rakesh Sharma said, “We have received the go ahead letter of the Department of Telecom and Cabinet to proceed with the merger of BSNL with its wholly owned subsidiary BBNL. Who is Nambi Narayanan? Nambi Narayanan is an Indian scientist and aerospace engineer. As a senior officer of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), he was in charge of the Cryogenic Division. In 1994, he was falsely blamed and arrested.
